HISTORY
OJSC “ Orienbank ” is one of the oldest banks of the Republic. There was functioned department of Central Asian commercial bank on the territory of Tajik SSR in Dushanbe as early as in 1925. There took place the opening of Republican office of Prombank in September of that year.
In the beginning of 30th years there were organized specialized banks of long term deposits in the country, and also the bank of financing and crediting of capital construction, the bank of industry, the bank of transport and communication – Prombank.
Present specialized banks of the Republic were canceled and their functions were delivered to Stroybank and to Gosbank in 1959. Functions of industry financing, transport, communication financing, functions of financing of capital deposits of the number of republican ministries, government and public organizations and individual house-building in cities and industrial community were imposed to Stroybank.
In the end of 80 th years Stroybank and Gosbank were reorganized and on their base there were organized Republican Gosbank and universal specialized banks, and also there was organized State commercially building bank of Tajikpromstroybank, aimed for complex service of all enterprises of the Republic, for geological survey, fuel and energy complex of building organizations, for supply and sales and transport agencies, and also enterprises of the Ministry of communication.
Tajikpromstroybank began production of safety stocks; on 1st April of 1991st it was reorganized into the Tajik joint-stock and commercial and commercially building bank of “Orienbank”. And it was registered by National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan and took 1 st licence. TJSC CBB “ Orienbank ” was renamed to Joint-Stock company on 5th of April of 2002nd .
